Arkansas!
The girls and I drove to Arkansas last week to visit my parents. Both of my brothers were there visiting as well. It was the first time that my girls got to play with their cousins, and they had an absolute blast. I'm so thrilled to see how much Rissa and Ash love their cousins. Here are some pics from our visit.

Bath Time! Oy!
Bath time causes quite a bit of drama in our house. I can't get my kids OUT of the bath tub. They spend more time playing in the tub than they do anything else. From the minute they wake up they ask about taking a bath. They nag me ALL day long about it until it's time. Rissa gets very very upset if I take a shower and she's not allowed to take a bath. I mean UPSET... crying, screaming, tantrums.
They have both informed me that they want to grow up to be mermaids, well more specifically "flying fairy mermaids". Seems like they are well on their way to their goal.

My little helpers
A few days ago Paul bought each of the girls a Build-A-Bear doll. Both girls picked out white ponies complete with gold boots and roller skates (which they pull around everywhere with leashes). Last night I promised to take them to Build-A-Bear again to pick out some accessories for their dolls. The reason I promised to take them is because they've been such good helpers. Without my asking, Rissa unloaded all of the silverware from the washer and put it away & Ashley has been very good at picking up all of the shoes around the house. Anyways, after we went to Build-A-Bear we had lunch at the food court. When we were finished a very nice lady came up to us and said that she and her mother & daughter had been watching us because the girls are so cute. She said that she couldn't help but notice how helpful they are too. They cleaned up the entire table without me asking and pushed their chairs in too. It was nice to see that someone else notices how wonderful my kids are.

When Rissa grows up
We were driving on the freeway today and saw a horse trailer driving in front of us. I point it out the the girls and Rissa says that all she can see is horse butts. I try to assure her that there are in fact two whole horses in the trailer. Rissa tries to convince me that it's a trailer full of horse butts that are being delivered to horses that need new butts. I asked her if she wants to be a horse butt transplant doctor and she said "Yes".

No booty shorts
I've been making a point whenever I go shopping with the girls to pick out modest clothing. No short skirts or shorts, no bathing suits that show too much tummy... etc. We went to a resale shop today and both girls made me proud. Rissa went into the dressing room and tried on a few skirts that she picked out herself. At one point I asked her to come out so I could see what she was wearing. She wouldn't even open the door and said "it's too short, I'm putting something else on" :). Later on I picked out a skirt for Ash to look at, it was in the wrong section so it was too small and too short for her. She said "Mom, it's too short" :). I was telling Paul about it tonight and then Ashley pipes up "we don't wear booty shorts". LOL!!!
